The Beatles “Love Me Do” – it was 60 years ago today… – Americana UK

Although, strictly speaking (and we do like to speak strictly) this is the 2009 remaster.  No matter, Americana UK today gives the nod to the other great musical phenomenon to come out of Liverpool.

October 5th 1962 saw the release of John, George, Ringo and Paul’s first single of which we might have said – nice harmonies, like the harmonica, hope for great things from this band in the future.

Sure, I could climb high in a tree, or go to Skye on my holiday. I could be happy. All I really want is the excitement of first hearing The Byrds, the amazement of decades of Dylan’s music, or the thrill of seeing a band like The Long Ryders live. That’s not much to ask, is it?
