East London creative Amane has laid out plans for new EP ‘Moments Of Solace’.
The multi-faceted musician has worked extensively behind the scenes, acting as musical director for Jorja Smith, amongst others. A key aspect of London’s improvisatory underground, he’s performed alongside King Krule, and also works as a member of jazz group Maisha.
New EP ‘Moments Of Solace’ is out shortly, and it finds Amane working on a solo endeavour. Two new songs – ‘Cover Me’ parts one and two – are online now, and they’re marked by electronic ambience, and his painterly touch.
You can locate aspects of Boards Of Canada in his compositional sense, alongside traces of Amane’s jazz roots. A beautiful introduction, he comments: “The world is an increasingly dark place to be. Writing this music helped me find a brief escape from all the noise, I hope that listening to it does the same for you.”
