Hotel Lux will release new album ‘Hands Across The Creek’ on January 27th.
The band shared their debut EP back in 2020, and spent (multiple) lockdown(s) honing and finessing their material. Out on January 27th, the results were overseen by producer Bill Ryder-Jones, and it’s unashamedly pop in its orientation.
Lush, intelligent songwriting, you can hear shades of the Beautiful South in there, re-tooling glossy 90s tropes for something a little more DIY. A full UK tour opens in February, with Hotel Lux previewing the album with a brand new single.
Out now, ‘Common Sense’ is a breezy, melodic hymn, whose beatific openness shrouds lyrics that discuss the Absolute State Of It All.
Hotel Lux comment…
“‘Common Sense’ is about how the media are aware that apathy is the greatest enemy of social shift, how we are being taken for fools and we’ve become numb to it.”
Tune in now.
