Holly Henderson has shared her new song ‘The Planes’.
The songwriter’s incoming album ‘The Walls’ has a real organic quality, crafted in a farmhouse, the musicians seated facing one another. The results speak for themselves – bejewelled psych-pop with folk qualities, her work has a haunting after-effect that can’t be shrugged off.
As she puts it…
The heart of every song was recorded live, from the front room of a farmhouse in Sevenoaks – everyone facing each other, hearing each other, and working together. The sounds you hear are preserved in the moment that they happened.
Out now, new song ‘The Planes’ indicates her approach. Curled melodies and coy lyricism, Holly finds a subtle directness in her bittersweet songwriting.
Reminiscent of those early Nico albums or modern day outfits such as Whyte Horses or even Charlotte Gainsbourg, ‘The Planes’ is a wonderful starting point in her artistry. Available through Ivy Records, it comes equipped with a trippy video.
Tune in now.
