German DJ and producer Helena Hauff has laid out plans for new EP ‘Living With Ladybirds’.
The producer has been on the road relentlessly throughout the past 12 months, but took time out to chat to Paris earlier this year. Musing on shifts within club culture and the greater acceptance of female voices within electronic music, she also mentioned the possibility of a new EP.
Well, she wasn’t bluffing. Signing to newly minted label fabric Originals – tied to the flagship London venue – new EP ‘Living With Ladybirds’ is set to be released on November 11th.
Ahead of this, Helena Hauff has shared dark-edged new track ‘Touching Plastic’, which seems to view electro with the heaviness of neo-industrial music. There’s a few acid squelches in there, too, with the Hamburg born producer’s futurism framework tethered in place by a keen awareness of the lineage she operates in.
An angular club jacker, ‘Touching Plastic’ bolts out of the traps, an exercise in focussed digital energy.
Tune in now.
