Floating Points has shared new track ‘Someone Close’.
The producer has enjoyed an emphatically creative 12 month spell, with a trilogy of new releases ushering in fresh ideas, and renewed innovation. ‘Grammar‘, ‘Vocoder‘ and ‘Problems‘ are online now, and they’re set to be joined by new cut ‘Someone Close’.
Escaping club velocity for something more ambient and nuance, ‘Someone Close’ moves between pirouetting electronics and warming brass elements, touching on Floating Points’ deep-rooted fondness for jazz.
Toying with space, ‘Someone Close’ has a three-dimensional feel to it, with Floating Points gently teasing out fresh aspects of his sound.
Gathered with the rest of his 2022 output, ‘Someone Close’ will be part of a four-track limited vinyl drop, which lands on December 16th.
‘Someone Close’ will be released on vinyl alongside the three other new tracks he’s shared this year: All four will be available on limited vinyl for the first time on 16 December.
You can pre-order the vinyl over on the Ninja Tune shop.
Tune in now.
