Ethel Cain has shared new song ‘famous last words’.
The songwriter’s stunning album ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ arrived earlier this year, an emphatic display of maturity and invention from the American talent. On its release, Clash praised “a heart-wrenching collection of songs that urges the listener to give themselves over to this album as much as Ethel Cain gives herself over to you.”
Word has spread, with ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ continuing to receive praise. Ethel Cain touches down in London on December 7th for a keenly anticipated headline show, and she’s just shared a bewitching new song with cinematic roots.
Emerging from the theatre after catching new Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell venture Bones And All, she wrote and recorded the wistful, spider-like ‘famous last words’.
Shared on SoundCloud, it’s a heart-stoppingly beautiful performance, with some incredible lyricism:
you were the one i’d have starved with
til i can’t hold out no more
you were the one i’d come looking for
over and over and over again
In the SoundCloud caption, Ethel Cain writes: “Had to make a lil song for Bones and Allcause I can’t stop thinking about it.”
