New York artist Blondshell has shared new song ‘Cartoon Earthquake’.
The song is being released as a Spotify Single, and follows a flurry of tracks from the promising songwriter. Real name Sabrina Teitelbaum, Blondshell recently touched down in London for an intimate showcase, blending new material into her set.
‘Cartoon Earthquake’ is now online in full, and its gentle yet infectious manner infuses 90s leaning pop-rock hooks with a touch of 70s AM radio textures. A golden hued return, it’s a song that thrives on subtlety, it’s emotional impact rendered all the more astutely for its aspects of humour.
“‘Cartoon Earthquake’ is about the uncertainty that comes with falling in love. I wanted the earthquake metaphor to be as dramatic as possible, because in real life I was trying to play it cool. The song is my version of the famously annoying internet question ‘would you still love me if I was a worm?’ but instead it’s ‘would you risk your life and jump over a crack in the ground to be with me?’
Tune in now.
